The high school Media Center is organized and equipped to provide reference, supplementary, and recreational materials. In addition to books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, and online computer services are available for student and teacher use.
A. The media center opens at 7:30 A.M. and closes at 3:30 unless extended hours are necessary.
B. Any student who wishes to use the Media Center during Study Hall is required to obtain a pass from the Media Center staff PRIOR to coming to the Media Center.
C. Most Media Center materials are due three weeks from the date they are checked out. The materials may be renewed if another student has not requested them. Students with overdue materials may not be allowed to check out additional materials until overdue items are returned.
D. There are no fines charged for overdue materials.
E. Reserve books, reference books, audiovisual materials and equipment may be signed out during a period for use in the Media Center or Study Hall and must be returned at the end of that period. They may also be checked out at the end of seventh period for overnight/weekend use. They must be returned before 7:50 A.M. the next school day.
F. The Media Center can obtain materials located within the Fox Valley area. There is NO cost for this service.
G. Because each student has the right to work in a quiet atmosphere, and many classes use the Media Center, loud talking is inappropriate and will not be permitted. This policy will be in effect during all hours.
H. Media Center materials taken from the Media Center without properly checking them out is stealing.
I. Students using the internet need to use it in a responsible manner.
